Sproxil Hits 10 Million Verification Milestone

Expansion of Counterfeit Protection, Launch of Loyalty & Mobile Marketing

Applications Key to Accelerating Usage

Cambridge, Mass. (July 1st, 2014) – Sproxil®, a leading provider of world-class brand protection, announces that its Mobile Product Authentication™ (MPA™) solution has processed more than ten million verifications, continuing to make it the most widely-used solution of its kind[1].  The Company hit the 10 million milestone just over 4 years after its February 2010 launch. The MPA solution, first implemented to combat counterfeit medication, is compatible with virtually any tangible product and has enjoyed expansion into a variety of product categories including agri-business, automotive aftermarket parts, health & beauty products, food and beverage, bedding, and textiles & clothing.

Before purchasing a product, customers scratch a label that reveals a one-time use code. Next the consumer texts the code to a secure number provided on the product package, the text message is then processed to determine product genuineness. Within seconds, Sproxil notifies the end user, via text, of the result. Alternatively, purchasers can verify using Sproxil’s iOS or Android apps, verify by web, or call the company’s consumer support desk to get results in their local language.  Another benefit:  the service is free of charge to the consumer.
