Business Development Intern, Mumbai, India
Overview

The Business Development Intern will be responsible for working with Sproxil India's sales & service delivery teams to help proactively and systematically add new alliance partners. You will work closely with your supervisor to develop, conceptualize and execute plans for acquiring new partners and creating alliance deals.

You will need to display great initiative and independence, together with strong organizational, relationship building and interpersonal skills. You will also have input into Sproxil's overall sales and will contribute towards the same.

Country Manager, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Overview

Sproxil East Africa is launching its Tanzania operations and you will be the initial Country Manager located in Dar es Salaam and interact with Sproxil team members across 3 continents. If you are someone who is motivated, self-starting, and an independent worker this position is for you. With support from the regional headquarters in Nairobi and global headquarters in the US the Country Manager will be responsible for establishing Sproxil’s presence in Tanzania, working with directors, hiring staff and becoming the public persona of the company responsible for all corporate relationships (customers, vendors, regulators, directors and shareholders). You will also be accountable for the development and execution of the company's growth strategy.

Responsibilities

Business development and relationship management:

  • Deepen customer and market penetration with the aim of dominating marketing share and share of the mind
  • Utilize a business orientation and marketing demeanor in order to bring concepts, services and cooperative business models to the marketplace
  • Identify opportunities and propose new methods of improving existing operations with a focus on bottom-line results
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with high-level stakeholders and act as company spokesperson
  • Prepare the company to meet the challenges presented by new trends and developments in the market

Leadership and financial management:

  • Accountable for the overall corporate strategy execution, budget and delivery of business and financial targets
  • In collaboration with the directors, worldwide executives and in particular the USA-based global finance team, develop an annual budget prepared in the context of the company’s strategic plan
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of financial resources within established policies of the company, making appropriate and timely financial and management decisions
  • Provide strong and effective executive leadership to future Sproxil staff
  • Establish a risk management framework and use it to identify and address emerging issues that impact the future direction of the Company

People management:

  • Oversee the company’s HR functions and compensation plan
  • Lead staff in their achievement of business objectives with integrity, fairness and transparency

Qualifications

Sproxil East Africa seeks a decisive leader capable of creating the big picture with great attention to salient details.

You will have these qualifications:

  1. A proven track record in the delivery of sales and organizational growth with international exposure. The candidate must have handled a portfolio of clients exceeding 10 in number and generating over TZS 100m in topline revenue. At least 2 of the past portfolio clients must have been MNCs
  2. Intimate knowledge of the Tanzanian business terrain especially in the pharma, FMCG, or agricultural inputs industry
  3. Great project, customer and human management skills demonstrable through historical achievements in each of those critical areas of our business
  4. A degree in a relevant field with at least 8 years post qualification experience especially in corporate management, at least 3 years of which must have been in senior executive management
  5. Candidates with prior experience in a marketing role will be preferred

Regional Sales Manager – West, Mumbai, India
Overview

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for revenue generation in key segments including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, and agri-business. We seek a self-motivated creative individual who will display great initiative and independence, together with strong organizational, relationship building and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for selling Sproxil’s award-winning solutions in the Indian market. You will develop and maintain relationships with the target customers to drive the company's sales on a global basis. You will have complete responsibility for your customer relationships and will be held accountable for total account sales, margins and overall relationship status. Reviewing micro market analyses, you will determine customer needs, sales volume potential, and pricing schedules that will meet the company’s goals.

Qualifications

A highly reliable individual with enthusiasm, service orientation, and attention to detail is required, combined with excellent organization and communication skills. You will have these qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in business/commerce from a reputed university
  • At least 2 - 4 years of successful consultative sales experience involving promoting and selling systems or concepts that increase client sales and brand value
  • Experience managing and closing intricate sales with multiple decision-makers
  • Skills in negotiating pricing of complex offerings
  • Comfort creating sales and marketing materials and presenting in public
  • High motivation and intelligence with expert interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently and flexibly in a start-up environment which is both demanding and multicultural
  • Availability for domestic travel (up to 50%)
  • Exposure and basic understanding of mobile and computing technologies. Fluency in English and a major Indian language
  • Ability to work in Delhi with flexibility to move into other geographies is strongly preferred.
